Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Howdy, I've been using arch linux for about a year-ish now, and we've finally given up on an issue and have decided to register here for the sake of solving this particular mystery.

I use arch just because it lets me have absolute control over my computer - for better and for worse. I suck at this thing, but! I suck less than microsoft does. And that's what counts.

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hi Everybody,

I have been using Arch for almost ten years now. However, I am still a noob and always will be that's for sure... Still, I have so far managed to get my issues solved by reading the fora, posting myself has not been necessary. This has changed now, I will have to post my first issue and ask for help. So, here I am.

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hey guys, I'm new here
I'm coming from opensuse (as a casual user), tried fedora for couple months but Arch got my attention
I'm in the middle of semester at university, so I don't have much time to try and dedicate myself to arch per see, so someone suggested over twitter to try omarchy, which I'll use for couple weeks until Holidays break, when I intend to install and configure my arch setup from zero to hero.

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hi,

Name's Dom! Been using Linux on on and off since 2013. Ubuntu was my first distro along with learning c++. Used it more in an education setting for the most part. Until I started working in a data center that's when all my studying and projects paid off. Now i all my devices from gaming console to work laptop  are unix based.

I wanted to get into Arch because of the complexities and learning curve. I always like to challenge myself and learn. So the device im using to type this post is running Arch Linux and will be learning more about this distro.

Thanks for your time and hope to meet new ppl here and learn from them.

One,
Dom :cool

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hi!

I'm new to Arch. I've tried a few distros before, and I ultimately switched to Arch as I wanted to learn more about my system. I've been encountering issues here and there (especially with the manual installation, oh my god), but give it a few hours and it'll eventually be fixed, I guess. Nonetheless, I love the learning process so far. It's a headache, for sure, but I like learning new things :)))

Hope y'all treat me well, btw:)

please work...

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Howdy, y'all!  I'm back into FOSS after a fairly long time.  Last time I had a free/open OS as my primary machine was 2008 or -9, although at work I still had deployed plenty of open-source servers.  About 8 months ago I dual-booted Win10 and FreeBSD, then installed Ubuntu over the latter.  Made Ubuntu my primary OS shortly thereafter due mainly to MS's planned obsolescence of Win10.  On my laptop, I tinkered with NetBSD, Ubuntu, HaikuOS, and, now Arch Linux.  And I'm now in the process of personalizing it, as well as for learning Emacs and Hyprland.  Arch definitely has made computing fun again for me.  smile
