Is it possible to revive Thinkpad T61 with Arch? GM965 GMA 3100

I've got this ancient thing - Thinkpad T61 with such GPU:

Lately after some update GPU stopped working properly, noticed when Youtube stopped playing.
Whatever app I run for this (Helium Browser, Zen Browser, FreeTube) I always get the same error:

Tried some methods from Arch Wiki, but they failed half way. I've only managed to stop GPU/X hangs and crashes buy downgrading mesa to mesa-amber. I've downgraded kernel to linux-lts - didn't help.
Vainfo gives the same error:

The chip can do OpenGL 2.1 but has no acceleration for video decoding, don't try to enforce that resp. disable it if the relevant client just activates it by default.
Whether you can "revive" it depends on what you intend to to w/ it.

I'd avoid wayland (resp. the popular compositors might not even work or run in software because of the limited GL) but you can do basic office work with it.

It's was mostly music player, but basic web browsing and documents editting too. I like to watch music videoclips.

From what I can tell you're not getting any hw accelerated video playback but most browsers use that conditionally and conservatively anyway, so vainfo should not be any of your concern.

Dear @seth, I'm so conservative as my modern browsers, and I didn't switch to any new thing like Wayland. Only Wayland I remember is Wayland-Yutani
Why do you ask me how playing YT videos broke, while I provided detailed info? You need me to say: It DOES NOT play. It doesn't. YT in blowser stops and tells me to restart. YT video in FreeTube just... DOES NOT start.
Error is always the same:

If you're using gnome or kde the move to wayland might have been involuntary.
There's no be reasons why you're trying to use vaapi on HW w/o accelerated decoder and then also the modules failing to load.
Please post the session status and check the behavior of

mpv -v someporn.mp4
