Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

This doesn't work - google wants to open the thing in the browser instead of downloading it or whatever.
Please g/zip the file or something.

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

This isn't a permission problem: It opens a new tab, loads a bit and then results in about:blank
If google tries to handle some hundred MB as text it'll likely just collaps and the download link is unfortunately no link but a javascript.

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

Firefox in troubleshooting mode has no problem downloading it and Falkon in normal mode also has no issues with it .

Both report preview not available and offer a button to download it.

It downloads a file called matlab.strace with a size of 47.4 Mib .

Try using https://drive.usercontent.google.com/do … t=download

=> the thing is very interested in ~/.MathWorks/ServiceHost/-mw_shared_installs/v2025.12.1.2/bin/glnxa64 so make sure to put he library there (as well)

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

Just looking at it, the picard listing looks identical to what's in /usr/local/MATLAB/... . Not sure why it has two exactly mirror file systems, but I'll try that and see if that fixes things.
Also I appreciate the anonymity~

My browser is a firefox derivative, so that's why I was kinda confused about the issue you were having, thanks Lone Wolf for confirming.

stat '/home/picard/.MathWorks/ServiceHost/-mw_shared_installs/v2025.12.1.2/bin/glnxa64/libgnutls.so.30'

exists???

(Ftr, it's not the browser - it's either some conditional JS or the adblocker, admittedly didn't test w/o, or both or something entirely different. I'll look into that if it becomes a permanent problem. I cannot download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ESNqDL … B4fQw/view either and that's just some kB)

MATLAB is exiting because of fatal error
Fatal Error:
Throw location unknown (consider using BOOST_THROW_EXCEPTION)
Dynamic exception type: mwboost::wrapexcept<std::runtime_error>
std::exception::what: Transport stopped.

Which looks an awful lot like the previous ones.

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

So it's not failing because of gnutls (anymore)…
Skimming the strace - it links gdk-pixbuf2 sad
Try to downgrade that to https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/ … kg.tar.zst
(Isolated in /usr/local/MATLAB/R2025b/bin/glnxa64/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 might do)

Can you run "matlab -webui"?

Run that before or after downgrading?

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

Either - ideally webui might sidestep the gdk-pixbuf2/glycin mess

and then the process gets interested in /proc/self/status so I assume that's when it starts to collect error information.
What kinda sucks.
You could make sure to have and move away all the /usr/local/MATLAB/R2025b/bin/glnxa64/libabsl_* in the hopes that there's better compatibility in this direction and the local copy is just because abseil is typically not installed…

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

Having done that, I didn't even get to the splash screen, nor the normal Segmentation Violation:

Throw location unknown (consider using BOOST_THROW_EXCEPTION)
Dynamic exception type: mwboost::wrapexcept<mwboost::exception_detail::current_exception_std_exception_wrapper<std::runtime_error> >
std::exception::what: Error loading /usr/local/MATLAB/R2025b/bin/glnxa64/mvm_transport/mvm_transport/mwmvmtransport_catapult.so. libabsl_hash.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory: Success: Success
cppmicroservices::SharedLibraryException

Re: Problems Installing MATLAB R2025b

I see that matlab-mpm and some other packages were updated a couple of days ago. I can't see what the changes were (bad gateway error), but do you think it would be worth trying to update and retry?
