Getting bridged network to work in VMWare server

I've installed Windows XP with VMWare server on top of my Arch install, but I can't get internett connection.  I've tried to set the ip manually and ping it, but I don't get connectio. I've also tried commenting out in the hosts.deny file.

What's the Kopete-Reloading-Kit?

Re: Getting bridged network to work in VMWare server

At first, check out if VMware is installed correctly...

check that...
- the vmware service is started (/etc/rc.d/vmware)
- you have the following modules loaded: vmnet, vmmon (the service should do this automatically)
- you are in the vmware group
- the virtual machine has networking enabled (virtual machine settings) and its set to "bridged" and enabled on startup...

Also check that you have enabled networking in the vmware-config.pl dialogs...

The rest is easy, just install your guest os and then vmware-tools... works here without any problems...

btw: the kopete-reloading-kit is a themeable contact list for kopete - you can enable it in the prefs...

//EDIT - ooops, i see you are using vmware server, so my info might be useless...

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod
