[ 113.334644] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: Can't find a correct rfid for crf

4 days ago, my WiFi connection went kaput while I was working. This was in the journal about the same time.
I hadn't ran pacman -Syu for a little while, so I connected my laptop to the modem using an ethernet cable and did so. This didn't fix the issue, and now what gets spat into the logs (dmesg | grep iwlwifi) shortly after my machine boots is this:

[  113.334513] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: Detected crf-id 0xa5a5a5a2, cnv-id 0xa5a5a5a2 wfpm id 0xa5a5a5a2
[  113.334644] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: Can't find a correct rfid for crf id 0x5a2
[  113.348581] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: probe with driver iwlwifi failed with error -22

Full output of lspci -nnk
Full output of dmesg

I'm stumped and don't even know where to start.

sounds like a hardware fault unfortunately, the fact that it just stopped mid work doesnt sound like a software issue

i did some reading on that error and others seem to come to the conclusion that it was hardware and were unable to fix it

hopefully you have a removable wifi module in your laptop and can replace it

EDIT: if you do have a wifi module, try removing it and re-inserting it a few times and see if that fixes it... long shot but from my history fixing things it just might work

It was indeed a hardware issue. Fortunately, I remembered I had an old wireless controller with a USB adapter lying around, so I plugged it in and it works a treat.
