This is a patch for the Domino style, not KDE. You can get my Domino PKGBUILD from AUR, the patch is already included smile

The upper area of the sidebar is not alterable because its generated automatically... But you can add stuff in the lower area by just dragging folders, files or urls to it...

Ok, i am now waiting for a new version of the icon execute feedback patch and update afterwards...

The next update will also include Seli's Xinerama patches. If you have any problems with KDE after updating, please report...

I have also switched back the website from Wordpress to good ol' xhtml+css, as wordpress is not flexible enough for my needs smile If you encounter any weirdness with the site, empty your browser cache and retry...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

I really like kdemod but is there possibility to get the recent PKGBUILD with it? I like to have all my packages rebuilded for my machine so it would help me a lot.
I know that there is a package with all PKGBUILD in repo/pkgbuilds/ but it's not up to date with the binaries.

Thanks and keep up this great work!

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Can someone using KDEMOD please have a look with Konqueror at this website, and tell me, if the flash-videos in the box on the right upper side can be played without interruptions?

For some unknown reason, the video always gets interrupted, when the picture in the upper middle flash-box changes, and I am not sure, if this is only on my machine, or a general issue with the linux flash implementation.

@funkyou:

I have checked your screenshots again, and I really like your Konqueror appearance, I mean this "Thunar" feeling from XFCE4.4.0 (which I am actually using, but I am just thinking about returning to KDEMOD). I know that this is because of the baghira sidebar, but you have obviously changed some more things. How can this exact look be achieved? Is it available as Konqueror profile?

Then there has to be something other wrong with your installation, because it should generally work, but not properly. Do you have the latest flash-plugin installed? Did you enable automatic plugin-search on Konqueror start? Was the flash-plugin found by konquerer? When you visit the mentioned page, is the flash-area in the upper middle (has pictures, that change automatically every few seconds), and the flash-videoplayer in the upper right area shown at all?

On my last KDE installation, the latest flash plugin worked in Konqueror, and I do not remember any problems with it, so either there is something wrong with the latest flash-plugin, or with the mentioned site (don't know any similar website with more than one flash-area to test right now), it most likely is not Konqueror's fault, nor of KDEMOD I assume.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

update time

- added selis patches for better Xinerama support
- added icon execute 0.3 patch (no more garbage :) )
- added knemo to kdemod-extra
- added the complete kdegames collection as splitted packages :) (if you want them all, install kdemod-kdegames)

Master One: The video on tv.com runs halfway fine here, some short interruptions appear (even in opera) ... I was compiling with -j2 when i checked this, but i would say the reason for that is the crappy linux flash player (blame adobe for that). There are always some minor problems with it (sometimes movies even play...), although i must admit that it got a lot better with the 9. version...

To get the "thunar-look" (btw, i call it "finder look" ;) ) like shown in the screenshots, just do the following...

1 - Activate the baghira sidebar and save your filemanagement-profile afterwards
2 - Close all konqueror instances
3 - Edit the file ~/.kde/share/config/konqsidebartng.rc and set the option HideTabs to true (HideTabs=true)
4 - Now Konqueror should start without this small sidebar at the left...
5 - Now you can edit your toolbars. I've done it this way: At first i deleted all entries in all toolbars and also deactivated them all except the main-toolbar. Then i just added all the stuff i wanted to the main-toolbar and activated only that one. So you get the entries you want in one line...
6 - To hide the menu bar you have to do some sort of trick. At first, open the dialog where you can configure the keyboard shortcuts in Konqueror. There you configure a shortcut to save the filemanagement-profile (Ansichtsprofil "Dateiverwaltung" speichern in german). I took STRG + ALT + - ... After doing that, close the dialog and hide the menubar with ALT + M... Then just issue your previously configured shortcut to open the profile dialog and save it :) There is no other way to do this, because without the menu you cant save the profile, so you have to configure this shortcut for it ;)

somairotevoli: I have no such problems here... I can use the KDE fonts in GTK apps and also specify some font, it all works.
Btw: Azureus is a java app, so i dont know if GTK styles apply to it...

dunkelstern: Thanks, the new patch is working fine and no more garbage :)

well I get the same problems w/ my fonts w/ Gaim and Mplayer. I did not have this problem before I tried out kde-mod. I am torn between  putting up w/ the font problem and going back to the way things were before...

As you can see it here...
shot1_tumb.png

and here...
shot2_tumb.png

..i have no problems with font rendering in GTK applications. I cant show you gaim, as the only GTK apps i use are gimp and mplayer...

Ok, maybe this is a solution:

At first, delete all .gnome* and .gtk* stuff in your /home, just all gnome stuff... Then reapply the settings in kcontrol and re-login... This could (hopefully) solve your issues...

I dont know what happens with the gtk-qt-engine (or which config gtk apps use) when there is also a gnome configuration available, so this could be a solution...

Please tell me if this works...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

In this screenshot i can see that you are not using the KDE fonts for your GTK apps but specify a different one... Did you also try to apply the KDE fonts (Use my KDE fonts in GTK applications)??

I have tested this, and even if i specify another font for GTK apps, it works flawless...

Also try another QT-Theme... As far as i see, youre using baghira... Check it with QTcurve or Polyester to ensure that its not your style causing this...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

That didn't work either. It seems that it keeps reverting to the option to use kde fonts anyways. I am really bored today  and I have been using arch since april so It may be time for a clean install since I have tweaked my system so much and I think it's time for a clean and minimal system. (i have been wanting to do this for awhile anyways because there are some other things that r bugging me that I have been unable to fix)
