I keep having to force shutdown my laptop if the lid is closed for too long, because it stops taking input from the keyboard, including the shutdown button, i that's relevant.
If it is closed for smaller amount of time, then this issue doesn't pop up. The touchpad still works fine. I've tried multiple different methods, but none of them worked, so at this point I doubt I will figure it out on my own.
I am willing to retry any methods, and I would rather prefer that, as it sometimes helps, so feel free to suggest things that are more obvious.
I also don't really mind if I have to use a work-around, because I primarily just want it to work, not have it be fixed on the level of principle.
Unfortunately, I didn't understand what kind of commands I need to run and post the output of, and I am fairly new, so please be patient with me, and let me know what other information I need to provide.

First, welcome to the forums.
Perhaps if you could tell us the make and model?
What desktop environment are you using? (KDE? Gnome?)
What is your system configured to do when you close the lid? Sleep? Hibernate? Hybrid sleep/hibernate?

It used to be required to reload i8042 on some lenovos, but that's no longer possible.

The model is Maibenben X15B.
Fairly certain I am using KDE.
It is set to sleep on lid closing.
(I have no idea about hibernation, as it is absent from any menus in the default GUI, provided by KDE Plasma, so perhaps it switches them under the hood after time, which would explain why this doesn't pop up after it being closed for small amounts of time)
