hello all, i'm a new archlinux user, and i've find a problem on my pc: the sound not work.. but the strange thing is that before a week ago all works well. yesterday i've note that fi i use beryl the audio doesn't work, but using kwin there aren't problems. today i cannot make my pc's audio work.... i've tryed:
reset alsa configuration
stop and start the alsa daemon
pull up all the mixer's levels
rmmod and modprobe all sound's kernel modules
less audiofile.wav >> /dev/dsp
but i cannot hear nothing.
anyone has some ideas?

Are your speaker cables plugged in properly?

uhm, i'm using a laptop
now, i've removed and reinstalled the drivers and after a reboot all works well...
i don't know why the problem is solved, but i'm happy :-D

nothing, today the sound works well since i use netbeans.
after the netbeans star i cannot hear nothing...
if i do less audiofile.wav >> /dev/dsp linux responds that the device is busy...
anyone have some ideas?

umm can u post a `dmesg | tail` or something cos this could possibly be dyign hardware if you are sure you did nothign other than use netbeans.
