Lenovo P1 gen7 will not boot

Not sure I'm posting in the right place, but I'll take my chances as I'm in desperate need for some expert help.

I have been running an Arch setup on a Lenovo P1 gen 7 for quite some time now with more or less no issues what so ever.
Here the other morning, after a normal, ordinary "pacman -Syu" update, my computer would not boot.
I went on doing the boot from arch iso usb, mount drives, chroot, reinstalled kernel etc. and thought that should take care of business. No such luck. Still not booting.

When in the grub menu, I select arch to boot and then then screen just goes blank and the machine reboots and comes back to grub.
I tried most of tips and tricks I could find, but nothing I could actually get to work.
I thought..well I have backup, so I'll just reinstall the whole thing. Same issue. Started thinking I had bricked my machine, and was just stuck with an expensive paperweight.

After that, since I had wiped thing anyway, I "just for fun" tried multiple distributions just to see what would work or not.
I tried Arch, CachyOS and Void, and all three had the exact same issue. Refusing to boot. On one of the arch reinstalls I also tried systemd boot instead of grub. Did not help.
Then I tried Fedora and NixOS, and they both boot just fine.

I know its difficult/impossible to give proper help without more information, but what could be the issue here? Where should I start looking for a fix?

This could very well be the issue. I will look into it.

But what is the reason for arch based systems not working while fedora and nix does?

Arch is there first..yes, that kind of makes sense I guess.

Anyway. Since I now had Fedora on the machine I quickly did a new fresh install of arch just using the install script,
chroot'ed and downgraded the intel-ucode package and ran mkinitcpio. Booted just fine afterwords.
