Bluetooth headphones keep disconnecting after update

List of things I tried:

  • downgrading linux-firmware-* to 20260622-1(this version worked before)

  • shutting down the laptop, unplugging power and disconnecting battery, because apparently the bluetooth chip can hold on to firmware while it still has power

  • downgrading pipewire to 1.6.6-1

  • downgrading bluez to 5.86-5

  • installing bluez-git

Tried the headphones on a different arch box on which they worked previously and the same happened, so it's probably to do with some package which needs to be rolled back, but so far I haven't been able to figure out which one is it.

Have you tried simply restarting bluetooth service (cmd line, not pc power off) ?
What desktop are you using, KDE, Gnome, Xfce or other ?
