[SOLVED] X11 Failing to Resume From Suspend to RAM (S3)

I cannot seem to resume my system from S3 sleep on X11 except on KDE-Xorg (Which I would prefer not to use). I have tried i3, bspwm, and dwm and every time I resume from sleep the screen turns on to complete black. The keyboard is effectively non-functioning and I cannot switch between TTY's. The only thing I can do is reboot my PC by using the SysRq commands, REISUB.

I am running on an NVIDIA RTX 3070 using the nvidia-open drivers. I've also followed: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … er_suspend, to make sure the VRAM is being restored by setting NVreg_UseKernelSuspendNotifiers=1.

My system is fully upgraded as of yesterday. This issue does NOT occur when I am running on Wayland. I have tested this in Hyprland and SwayWM and resuming from sleep works flawlessly, until a recent regression (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=314987).

I do not know what has changed because I used to use X11 daily about 3-5 years ago and everything worked fine then. I am using `startx -- -keeptty >~/.xorg.log 2>&1` to start my window manager.

Here are my Xorg logs from when I ran KDE and when my system resumed properly:

Just to add some additional information, here is what's located inside my '/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config'. It looks like in the wiki that this is something you should do with the proprietary driver now.

Outside of this resume from sleep issue, everything else works fine. I'll appreciate any help. I'm kind of at a loss as to what KDE could be doing differently, and what changed since I last used Xorg about 3-5 years ago.

Re: [SOLVED] X11 Failing to Resume From Suspend to RAM (S3)

Dude, no way. Thank you so much, that worked entirely. I would have never guessed at all that it's because my keyboard creates a joystick tag, or something of that nature. After plugging in some dusty normal keyboard of mine, I was able to resume from sleep in DWM just fine.
