I'm using Linus. I checked, and it's most likely not a driver issue—this never happened before; it only started happening after the BIOS update. I had an old BIOS; I hadn’t updated it since I bought the motherboard (there were some issues, but the BIOS update helped). I had the same problem, but it only happened when I enabled the highest graphics settings in games—the system would temporarily lose its internet connection. Here’s what was in the logs:
igc 0000:06:00.0 enp6s0: PCIe link lost, device now detached
igc: Failed to read reg 0xc030!
WARNING: drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igc/igc_main.c:7021 at igc_update_stats+0x1079/0x2130 [igc]
Hardware name: ASUS System Product Name/ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING, BIOS 3645 09/10/2026
I set up automatic settings restoration using a script, but it doesn't work well because it happens during heavy load—for example, when a lot of abilities are being used in Dota 2 and similar games—while this doesn't happen during normal system use; it only occurs during games.
