Having trouble getting PCI wireless card to work

I have a D-Link DWL-G510, AR5005G chipset.  I installed the madwifi drivers and got my card detected, but I'm not able to connect to my router.  I believe it's just a problem with the config files, but I'm pretty new to this so I'm not sure what needs to be done.  I do have a working ethernet card which I'm using to post this write now; I just can't connect wirelessly.

I would prefer to use WPA or WPA2 if possible, but I can disable it if needed.  I just want to get it working right now.
