Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

i don't know gnome that much, so if you are not talking about virtual desktops (that you have in kde) a bit more of information may help to give you an answer.

Nevermind. The option I was looking for was in Control Center->Desktop->Taskbar->Show windows from all desktops

I've missed KDE

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

SVN access for the PKGBUILDs is now available ...

To get the latest ones, just enter:

svn co http://kdemod.ath.cx/svn/trunk kdemod

Its my first time i set up this, so tell me when something is/goes wrong...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

some missing apps are coming with the next update... you can already find some of the new PKGBUILDs in svn ... packages will be updated over the day...

Well done, funkyou, it is getting really complete now. Still missing: kdepim-karm (seems to be quite useful in tracking time you spend on different things).

Its there, just forgot it yesterday wink

pacman -Ss kdemod-kdepim-karm
kdemod/kdemod-kdepim-karm 3.5.6-1
    KDE Time Recording App (kdemod)

btw, i work now with svn for the PKGBUILDs. So if someone is willing to help me here and there and is also able to build in new patches and stuff, i will give him an account on the server and commit rights for svn... There is also still some minor work to do, for example the pkgdescs need to be cleanified and filled with better descriptions and the dependencies need a re-check...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

I just found out that Konqueror needs (?) fribidi to display SVGs. Since the fribidi-library is really small maybe adding it to the dependencies wouldn't be a bad idea!?

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Another stupid question.

How could I go about having other apps automatically launch when kde-mod has initialized?

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

you mean at startup of KDE, you want to start certain apps? first, you can use session support for this - just let them run when you close KDE, and let session restore get 'em back for you. second, there is the autostart folder: ~/.kde/Autostart. all links to executables, scripts and .desktop files in there get started when KDE starts.

A short question: can install the modified QT alongside the unmodified version without any problems? I want to play around with it.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

mucknert,
the "enhanced" qt replaces archs qt, so the only way to install them both is a) what superstonded said (but then you have qt4), or b) get the qt-enhanced pkgbuild and modify the installation path and more... there are also only 2 more patches applied to qt-enhanced (one for xinerama and one to support the transparent ruberband), so its on your decision if its worth it...

mata_svada,
thanks, i have included the dependency, comes with the next update.

dunkelstern,
yeah, i'll contact you shortly about that smile

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

funkyou, do you know which patch is responsible for making the clickable area the same length as the file name in Treeview as mentioned here?
I searched for it in your PKGBUILDs for kdebase and kdelibs but didn't find it.
