Atmel at76c503a drivers with arch? General advice sought.

I'm just trying to track down an issue I'm having using these drivers. It only occurs in arch and it occurs with any arch kernel I use (I've tried .16, .19 and .20). If anyone is using these drivers please can they update this thread so I can try to narrow down what is causing the kernel panics I am experiencing.

I use a totally standard arch 2.6.20-ARCH kernel with KDEMod installed. I can use the drivers (a76c503a from here: http://developer.berlios.de/projects/at76c503a/) for varying amounts of time but inevitably I receive a kernel panic/hard freeze with no information logged so I'm totally clueless on the cause.

I've been using these drivers for years with a multitude of other distro/kernel combinations without issue so this does appear to be arch specific. There are no reports in the driver's bugzilla or mailing lists regarding freezes caused by the driver and the drivers have barely changed in the past months so that also makes me lean towards an arch peculiarity.

Even if you don't use these drivers if anyone can think of why I might be receiving these random freezes it'd be appreciated. I use a Netgear MA101 USB adapater containing the at76c503a chipset.

Thanks,
