Hey, this is my hwd output concerning my laptop's wireless card:
Network controller
ipw3945 : Intel Corporation|PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
So I downloaded the package ipw3945 and put ipw3945 in MODULE=() and ipw3945d in DAEMONS=(), the thing is the module is always using 100% cpu no matter what! The wireless button is not even on, I have no ideia what this might be so I was wondering if this is a known bug? If so what fixes are there for it or do I need to use another driver?
I have the latest kernel and my system is updated.
Thanks.

i have the same problem. if the wireless card can't find a network or if it is disabled, the cpu use goes to 100%. i don't know how to fix tis, but i can go around this problem
. if it doesn't connect to a network or if it is disabled when i boot and i enable it afterwards i just do /etc/rc.d/network restart. if there is no network around i just disable the daemon in rc.conf and reboot. maybe this should be filled in as a bug? but i don't know if this is arch's network script or ipw3954's bug. devs, any help here?

Also I noticed that if I boot with wireless off, besides the 100% cpu use it also doesnt recognise the wireless card interface after I turn it on (even if I restart the network) which forces me to boot with wireless on. ![]()
