Patching nfs-utils?

I want to run NFS on a server which should Iptables running on it also. I found this bug http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/5645 that would solve the problem but I can't apply it. Given the fact that I'm no master att applying patches I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or if that patch doesn't work on the current nfs-version.

Any pointers at all would be great.
