Hi guys,
I'm trying to get Bluetooth working on my desktop computer. I own a Bluetooth USB dongle. If I plug it in, nothing happens. If I start "/etc/rc.d/bluetooth" daemon when it's plugged in, it works: an icon with the logo of Bluetooth appears in the system tray. If I start the bluetooth daemon at startup (with the dongle unplugged) and then I plug it in, the dongle doesn't get recognized; if I restart the daemon it works again. Obviousely, I would like to make the bluetooth daemon load automatically when I plug in the dongle and unload it the I unplug it.
The other problem is about file transferts: I can send something from the computer to my cell phone (Samsung SGH-D820) but not from the cell phone to the computer. I tried to bind them together... seems to work but it doesn't.
Can anyone help me? I followed the gentoo-wiki's document but I'm stucked!
Thanks, Axel.

To get the bluetooth working as you want, you'll have to set some udev rules. Look at the wiki ![]()
And about binding...how did you proceed? have you changed the pin_helper? what is your config?
More info please!

Uhm... I've already taken a look at the wiki but I didn't found anything useful (either for bluetooth or udev rules). I'm going to search the net. ![]()

I didn't configure anything on the PC: I've asked for pairing from the cell phone and entered a PIN, then GNOME Bluetooth asked me for the PIN and the trick is done. Actually the link isn't working good because, as I said before, I'm able to send files to my cell phone but I can't recive anything from the cell phone. ![]()
