An odd printing issue [SOLVED]

Hello. I'm using SAMBA in order to print from Arch to my printer, connected to a machine running Windows XP.

The thing is, when trying to print out a test page, it is printed just fine. However when I try printing an OpenOffice document, or a PDF file through Konqueror, it just prints blank pages.

Does anyone know what might be causing it?

Thanks in advace.

Re: An odd printing issue [SOLVED]

do you have gimp-print and ghostscript installed?

The impossible missions are the only ones which succeed.

Both are installed. I even tried reinstalling them and restarting cups, but the result is the same.
Any other ideas perhaps?

Re: An odd printing issue [SOLVED]

Ok, I solved the problem I guess. What I did was removing foomatic-filters, gimp-print, ghostscript and psutils, removing the samba symlink from CUPS, deleting the printer and restarting CUPS. Also I've recopied the ppd file of my printer to /usr/share/cups/model.

Then I reinstalled all the packages and recreated the symlink, restarted CUPS again. Then I re-added the printer under a different name and now it seems to work as before.

Thanks for all the help smile

Re: An odd printing issue [SOLVED]

Good morning.

How is it possible to remove symlink to CUPS?

I have copied ppd files of my printer to CUPS/MODEL, but gnome cups manager they are not appear.
Therefore under CUPS/MODEL I have a directory C with many ppd but under gz file.

Please, can you help me?

Thanks.
Luca.
