@ funkyou: I'm using the testing repo right now and tried removing nas, but the nas dependency still exists?
pacman -Rn nas

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

Doehni,
this happens because pacman does not update the reverse dependencies of the package... Its all described in this thread.
For now, you can remove nas with pacman -Rd nas

I moved to the testing repository and now it seems to work. Thanks for the suggestion, never knew that the current repo could let a error occur.
Upgrading right at this moment.

hm, this problem seems to be limited to your machine/installation...
try to start konsole from a terminal and look out for any error messages...

Yeah, I have noticed that it does not show up with other machines.

could be interesting
QApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver
Maybe a backreference to the QGArray-error with Index 0 out of range and then pointing to null?

I'm having this issue as well, and I am using the official KDE packages.
If you find a fix, please let me know.

Me too... for now I downgraded to KDE 3.5.6: I can't live without kopete's notifications. konsole real transparencies is missing too in the new release: I think the patch is not ready upstream. I will wait until it's more stable...

Well, konsole works with --real-transparency for me. I have a problem saving it in a session, though. I mean, when I start konsole with that param, it works well. But if I try to save the session, log out and log in again, it's brought up by the session manager without the flag. Anyone has an idea how to fix this?

As Neuro already pointed out, Konsoles real transparency is now included upstream with 3.5.7... Only one patch is not ready from upstream and that is the Xinerama one, but i doubt that there is someone who really needs this one...
About the Kopete problem: Can you two (chaosgeisterchen & david_e) post your CPU here? Maybe it is the additional optimization that freaks a little bit out on kopete. You can also try to delete/backup your Konsole config and check if it works this way... I have also uploaded a new kopete package, please update and test it.

Any idea how to put that param into the session saver?

For me kopete sometimes crashes when opening a new message window (usually upon arrival). This is extremely annoying. My CPU is an Intel Core Duo T2300E.

Hm i never experienced a kopete crash here and i have 3 machines running KDEmod: Pentium D 845, Pentium M 1,7 and an Athlon 1.2... Do you use any special plugin with kopete?

Good evening, funkyou.
I want to thank you for your neverending effort in advance, it's tremendous to have a maintainer just like you. But it does not stop the kopete package from not working. I have now installed kdemod-kdenetwork-kopete-3.5.7-2.
My CPU is a Intel Core2Duo E6300 @ 1.86 GHz. Might be a CoreDuo+ - problem here?
// edit
Deleting konsole config did not change anything. Did you mean the kopete config? Did not help last time.

I've decided to give kdemod a try, but I keep receiving the following message:
:: Archive hwinfo-13.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted. Do you want to delete it? [Y/n]
error: failed to commit transaction (corrupted package)
archive hwinfo-13.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz was corrupted (bad MD5 or SHA1 checksum)
errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Regardless of my response (y/n), it cancels the installation. I'm using the testing repo for x86_64. Any ideas?

I've decided to give kdemod a try as well, but:
error: 'kdemod': not found in sync db
Using x64 arch, and i have the current kdemod repo @ pacman.conf .
Tried with the testing repo, kdemod installs fine, but doesnt really work (the menu is blank, can't see any of the apps, it even asked me which program to use to open a folder i double-clicked on).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Nah, only the history plugin. It crashes either when a new message appears and I press 'view' in the notification bubble or when I select a contact from the contacts list to talk to.
And yes, I've tried clearing the configuration for kopete. The thing started to happen about 2-3 updates ago (now running testing). I'm sorry I can't really tell when, but I sync every 2nd day.

It's not kopete related. I have the same issue with kmail too (I have set a sound notification for new mails). So it's a problem with the libraries these programs use to play sounds. A workaround is to make these programs execute "playsound [sound]" instead of playing sounds themselves. (Notifications --> Advanced --> Execute a program)

Ok, just make it clear for me... Is kopetes notification broken (i mean the animating or blinking systray icons and kopetes info popups) or is it something with KDE's notification itself (KDE popups and system sounds) ???
If its kopete, try out the new -3 package in testing, its build without any optimizations than the standard arch ones...
If its the KDE notification, it could be the powertop patch we have applied to arts that also affects knotify...
Also, using an external app like play is really recommended to play KDE`s notifications...
I will tell Dunkelstern about the 64bit issues.

It's the audio KDE's notification not working here (Kmail, kopete and so on). The animation when a new message is received was working, for me, also in the "-1" version.
artsd also is not working (it crashes on start):
[davide@hp-arch ~]$ artsd

the famous "libaudio.so.2" problem? This is what I get when I click on "Play Sound" in the kopete notifications menu:
[davide@hp-arch ~]$ kopete

Are you using the current repo? I would not recommend it anymore and we will move our testing stuff soon anyway, just killing the last few problems...
The nas (libaudio.so.2) dependency problem has been solved in kdemod-arts 1.5.7-3 in testing, and as said before kopete is build without any further optimizations now, so the only broken thing could be the powertop patch...
Please test this, if it does not work i will remove the powertop patch also...
