Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Fixed, thanks for reporting

We are moving back to /current soon (so /testing will be closed again until a possible 3.5.8 release). If you get error messages in pacman, just move back to the current repo...

Nice, LeeSieLung, thank you! Many testers will have your patches as soon as the KDEMOD guys get it compiled ;-)

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Hello guys, do you plan to have kdemod that include KDE 3.5.7 ?

I have just installed Arch Linux with the kdemod and I have kde 3.5.6 and in the official current, the new kde 3.5.7 has arrived this week.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

they're in the process of moving 3.5.7 to stable, it's in testing now. They've spend a lot of time on it, improving stuff, adding patches... so it took a while to get it stable.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

No problem, because I think that Arch release some package lightning fast....like this week KDE 3.5.7 is now in stable...pretty fast for a new package.

Yeah, the Kopete patch is already in!!!! And it rocks... It's very cool to be able to edit and change theme's. I only miss an 'export theme', now ;-)

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

I'm running into problems trying to install kdemod from the x86_64 repos. Like others a few pages back, when I sync up and do pacman -S kdemod, I get:

"error: 'kdemod': not found in sync db"

I can see some of the packages when I search for them with pacman, but no sign of an overall kdemod package itself. Moreover, trying to install the components individually leads to problems. For example, pacman can't seem to find kdemod-kdebase-kicker in the repos. This is weird, because when I load the repo page by hand, I can see all these packages.

Any ideas what's up here and how I might fix it? Kdemod looks great, and I'd love to try it out.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Temporarily switch to the testing repo.

Server = http://kdemod.ath.cx/repo/testing/x86_64

That should solve the problem.

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Fixed again in i686... x86_64 is one or two pkrels behind i686 with some packages, so its already fixed and just needs to be uploaded...

If there are no more errors, we will move it to our current repo later today...

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Way cool, thanx for all the work!!!

I wonder, if any of the patches or any other changes might have broken my multimedia, though, as the multimedia key's on my keyboard do kind'a work, but don't change the volume (they show the volume bar, but it seems to only change from 0 to 11, and the real sound volume doesn't change)...

anyone else having this?

(I have never used my multimedia keys before, so this is a good start wink )

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

Just want to say, great work with kdemod and updates!

The only problem I have, which isn't a big deal as I can live with it, is with my multi monitor configuration set up as three independent screens. I can only activate the kbfx kicker applet on the primary screen. If I put it on either of the other two screens, when clicking on it, the menu always opens/reverts to the primary screen. So, no big deal, I just use the conventional K-menu on the other two screens. It would be nice to be able to use it independently on each screen though. I don't think this has anything to do with kdemod, but rather it's just the behavior of kbfx on a multi independent screen setup?

Anyway, your really on the ball with keeping kdemod up to date! Thanks!, I'm a happy kde-mod user!  : )

Re: kdemod - a lightified and modular KDE + additional patches

once,
Do you have your localization for both KDE and Koffice installed? It could also be font issue, but i cant really  help you with that...

tuxom,
this patch is already included... I'll check that, maybe we have made a mistake...

Leigh,
we will include the Xinerama patches again with the next update, as they are running now on 3.5.7... Dont know if that will help, i would also ask the kbfx guys about this...
