It was changed to matcher in version 8.0, do you have an older version? And if so, why?

Look into /usr/lib/urxvt/perl: there you can find all the perl extensions for urxvt provided by a default installation. If you have no 'matcher' there, then you need to reinstall the package. If on the contrary you have 'matcher' there, then may be that something in the urxvt configuration confounds the paths where urxvt should look for perl extensions.
This path is determined by the urxvt*perl-lib resource. Try to put it in your .Xdefaults: a colon separated list of directories, including /usr/lib/urxvt/perl. That resource is ignored if you run urxvt setuid/setgid.

Thank you.. but..
[alex@icrave ~]$ ls /usr/lib/urxvt/perl | grep matcher
matcher
[alex@icrave ~]$ cat .Xdefaults | grep perl-lib
urxvt*perl-lib: /usr/lib/urxvt/perl
And the same error when launch it:(.

I put on .Xdefaults:
urxvt*urlLauncher: swiftfox urxvt*perl-ext-common: matcher urxvt*matcher.button: 1
When i launch urxvt I have this error:
urxvt: perl extension 'matcher ' not found in perl library search path
I need an extra package?
May be I have eaten too much pandoro today, but I see an unwelcome blank space after 'matcher' in the error; the same blank space in the lines from quoted your .Xdefaults. Check that there is no blank space after matcher in the config file.

And, if this is the problem, then there is a blank space also after 'swiftfox'. Inspect your .Xdefaults for unwelcome blank spaces.

switched (due to this thread) to urxvt... its amazingly faster than the gnome terminal... just 2 issues:
when i try to run urxvt-tabbed i get an dirty error:

(the Gtk2.pm doesnt exist in fact...)
i have
urxvt*perl-ext-common: default,tabbed
urxvt*perl-ext-common:matcher
in my .Xdefaults but there is no tab support in urxvt...
Second issue is, that i dont know how to copy&paste stuff... but i hope the manpage will help me here...

Try reinstalling perl. I think this crops up every once in a while for people and no one has figured out why. Unless I'm confusing this with a very similar issue.

The same way you do in any X app.. highlight text to copy, middle-click to paste.

not X only, this even works in VTs, provided gpm is started (although midclick becomes rightclick). definitely a must-know, and much faster than ctrl+x/c/v.

I just installed Arch yesterday and I've decided to go for a minimal style using E17 or FVWm.
try wmii or ratpoison. a tiled window manager takes 3-4 days to get used to but once you are done, you never look back. i raised my programming produtivity to 50% by using wmii, previously i was using Windowmaker. it was like this:
Windows 98 -> Windows 2000 professional -> Windows 2000 advanced server -> WindowsXP -> Fedora Core -> Debian -> Arch -> Foresight -> UTUTO -> BLAG -> FreeBSD -> KATEOS -> PLD -> gnewSense -> Gentoo -> Fedora -> DragonFlyBSD -> Frugalware -> OpenBSD -> Gentoo -> Arch
i still want to use Gentoo, it is amazing distro but really hate its USE flags approach. my Desktop to command-line transition is like this:
Widnows -> KDE (14 days) -> GNOME (1.5 years) -> Xfce -> Ratpoison -> WIndowmaker -> sawfish -> Windowmaker -> Fvwm -> Windowmaker -> Ratpoison -> Windowmaker -> wmii
Windows is the one i used for the longest time, 3 years at Univerity + 1 year at home, BUT that is the *fault* if Indian Educations system which exists to ruin the life of software students. i started to use Fedora because i wanted to sell my old Celeron 600 MHZ, which always gave me weired, difficult to understand and impossible to solve problems. and one day when i was a salesman, talking to my friend "Dinesh" about my hardware problems, What Dinesh told me ? you can find at my BLOG. i just wrote that article when i was replying to your post
thing is, I need a good terminal app, since I want to avoid too many GUI programs. So the question is, what is the best looking terminal app in the world?
Basu, use "urxvt" and write a good looking "~/.Xdefaults" file. here is mine:

XTerm*geometry: 70x21
XTerm*faceName: monospace
XTerm*faceSize: 11

urxvt*backgroundPixmap: /home/arnuld/.local/icons/graybrck.xpm

OT: I'm beginning to really like this community. AFAIK this is one of the only places where asking for:
- what's the best DE
- what's the best filesystem
- what's the best distro
- what's the best term
- what's the best shell
- [insert your favorite igniting topic here...]
has a <1% chance ending in a ballistic war.
seriously, it goes as far as managing to have purposeful, and even useful answers to those.
impressive.
