Re: when "Archlinux 2007.07" will coming out ?

Seems to actually be called 2007.08, judging by the ISO I downloaded earlier today.

Don't Panic (referring to kernels) is one thing, but I can still be unhappy that the md5sums of several of the base packages are corrupted. Yes, I grabbed a valid iso, md5sum said it was okay, and I verified the disc image once it was burned; all checked out.

I still can't install Arch because the md5sum/SHA1sums of module-init-tools, ncurses, and perl are bad. Panic time?

I'd like to try out Arch on my laptop, but it seems the latest release has quite a few bugs.

This one from ibiblio.

I downloaded and booted the older 200705 base iso instead, and so far installation has worked out. System seems to be up to date and installing stuff is working for once. It's decent so far.

That 200708 iso needs some more work, but fortunately the older base iso worked just fine.

I got it, but I didn't perceive it as a joke, it would sure be a funny name on the next release. :-)

Don't Panic, people were getting it. I, for one, have been thinking of The Guide every time I've entered archlinux.org or booted my desktop for the past week. Remember folks, the trick is to fall, and miss the ground.

But now you made me think about it and I won't miss it because I'm thinking about it... DAMN YOU, you should be sentenced to listening to 10minutes of Vogon Poertry for that... Ok maybe not tongue

BTW when will the Geneva convention be altered to include Vogon Poetry in torture practices?

Thanks, that was one thing I forgot to mention (the lack of being able to select kernels & boot options.)

Has anyone else been able to confirm the corrupted md5sums of the packages I mentioned earlier?
