Can't connect to WEP networks with KNetworkManager

Do I need an extra package to do this?

Or can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

No extra packages required, assuming you allowed pacman to install all required dependencies.

Re your 2nd question, a description of the problem would be useful to anyone who is considering helping you.

Re: Can't connect to WEP networks with KNetworkManager

Yeah, sorry. I was in a bit of hurry atm.

When I try to connect to the WEP encrypted network it stops on the getting ip part, and it stays there around 30-60sec before it returns the message "Coulnd't connect..".  If I boot up in windows and try to connect to the same network, it works flawless.

Any info in dmesg when it's trying to connect? Can you connect with WEP disabled i.e. no encryption?

I'll check the dmesg as soon as I get back home.  If I disable the WEP on the network, can I connect with no problems.

ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready
eth0: no IPv6 routers presentpresentpresentieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'WEP'
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready
eth0: no IPv6 routers present
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready
eth0: no IPv6 routers present

That's first trying to connect to a wep network, and failed.
Then I connected to a open one, and sucseeded.

Re: Can't connect to WEP networks with KNetworkManager

I had the same problems with knetworkmanager and wpa2.

But i don't care about knetworkmanager any longer. wicd works very good, connects within a few seconds.

I have no luck with either wicd or network manager. It works if I set it with iwconfig.

Re: Can't connect to WEP networks with KNetworkManager

I'm experiencing the same problem with knetworkmanager.

I can find networks, but when i connect and enter my wep key i can't connect to the network. Connecting normally with rc-scripts works fine, but isn't what i want.

Hopefully this gets fixed, it seems as if it was a knetworkmanager bug, according to the kde bugtracker, it's a kernel problem.
