cannot get wordpress running

hi, just tried to install a wordpress on my local webserver. (apache+php+mysql)

but when i try to access it it says "Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress."

anyway, this is what php info page says to this:

MysqlI Support    enabled
Client API library version     5.0.45
Client API header version     5.0.45
MYSQLI_SOCKET     /tmp/mysql.sock

so i am clueless for the moment...

*Edit* stupid me.. found the solution a few seconds later.. of course when it asks for mysql extension, i shouldnt load mysqli...

Re: cannot get wordpress running

To give you an advice:
Wordpress basically is nice. I myself moved to serendipity later, which is actually nicer than wordpress in my eyes (at least for a single blog). Also, wordpress had problems with their editor (copy/paste/lockup of the cursor in the edit box).

If you need to provide more than one blog, you might want to take a look at Wordpress MU, which does not create tables for every blog created, and therefore needs less database permission on the user dedicated to the blog.

Yours,
Georg
