I have an older network card I know for sure works under linux provided the proper Tulip module is loaded, however, it seems the version of Arch I have right now doesn't have that module. I do have a Gentoo Jackass cd with the proper version, and was wondering if I could just copy the module onto a floppy and load it from there...

No, wouldn't work. Which "older network card"? What module are we talking about? And is the version of Arch that you have right now up to date?

It's an older version, circa 2002 iirc, and I'm having trouble with the Tulip module. I know it works since I installed Gentoo on a K6 (or 5?) using an equally antiquated install cd and had no trouble with eth0/the same card (02 Micro, Inc. Unkown device 0985 (rev 11)) after loading Tulip. I'm downloading the current release (love the name ) right now, so hopefully I can finish, burn, and pop it in before I gotta go.

The tulip module is present in the default arch kernel:
~$ pacman -Qo /lib/modules/2.6.22-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/tulip/tulip.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.22-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/tulip/tulip.ko is owned by kernel26 2.6.22.6-2

I was having a similar problem on a AMD Sempron 2300+. The chipset on the card said Realtek but it loaded the tulip module. The device would stop working every few minutes until I unloaded and reloaded the tulip module. Thinking it was broken, I got a replacement card. But that got the same problem.
Finally I bought another card by a different manufacturer and the new one works.
It seems the tulip driver has some problems an AMD computers.

This one's on an old PIII, and after changing PCI slots it's being detected, so... NVM.
Just about every one of my threads recently have been hardware glitches.
