Known issues:
* This driver source will not compile with GCC version 4 and above.
* S/PDIF passthrough is not supported in this driver release.
* External I/O modules are not supported in this driver release.
* Applications from the original Sound Blaster X-Fi Installation CD will not work with this driver.
Requirements:
* Linux x86_64 OS
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi audio devices listed above.

I'm very interesting in trying them, but currently running 32-bit for WINE. I could probably set up a chroot jail for 64-bit, but I'm also lazy
Why did they target 64-bit anyway, I wonder?

This is good news, and I like that the do the direct opposite that the rest of the world Now you 32bit X-Fi owners have a good reason to switch to 64bit

Creative have stated that the driver will be released under both 32 bit and 64 bit. The driver is only beta at this point.
