Thanks for creating this great distro. I started using ArchLinux a few years ago and it is still the main system on all my computers, including those for production use as well as my entertainment multimedia box.
Even with Judd stepping back, I'm sure ArchLinux will keep its No. 1 position on my computers for many years.

Well, what can I say a part from the usual "Thank you Judd!" and "All the best, Aaron!"
Arch has been my distro for almost 5 years, and I learnt so much about Linux with it. I don't think I am ready to change soon.

For me, Arch Linux is the best Distro over the world.
I´ve testet so many Distros in 12 years.
Thank you Judd and welcome Phrakture.
When i write this post i need about 5 minutes, my English
writing is bad, reading is not the problem, but i think in a little
bit time i will learned many more.
Although my English is so bad, i dont use translator,
because I would like to learn it.
So, sorry to all, because I torment you with my bad English .

Judd,
you have created and shaped a distro that has become a home to many of us. This is where I ended up, happy and without any thoughts of change. It gives us all the freedom we wish, is lightweight, works really well and keeps me happy by being a rolling release system. Your work is both visionary and solid. Thank you for that!

Thanks Judd,
Arch Linux has been the most fun experience I've had with Linux since starting over 9 years ago. It's as close to perfection for a distro as I have found. Best of the Best. It's what I had been searching for the other 7-1/2 years in all the other distros. Many thanks.
phrakture,
Nothing like a little pressure and tons of responsibility eh ? Good luck, although I'm sure you won't need it. Congratulations !

Yet Another Thank You Judd. Arch has turned out to be one of the cleanest Linux
distributions out there. I wish good variables and good luck in your future
endeavours.
And of course congratulations on your promotion to overlord, Phrakture!
Cheers

Having built such a unique distribution amongst so many others deserves recognition. I, too, have tried so many other distributions and always come back to this one. Thanks a lot!

I too believe phrakture is the best choice for the position of Arch Project Manager. Congrats, phrakture!

Judd is a man of style.
Not only an excellent engineer, of course, but also one who practices his craft with elegance: elegance in the solution he finds (Arch itself, for example) and elegance in his way of dealing with people, in animating a community. Judd's style is one of the major reasons of my staying with Arch. Even when the distribution was facing problem, I had no doubt that a simple and efficient solution would soon be found. This has always been true so far.
So many big thanks to Judd and a big hope that the community, under the monitoring of Aaron, will manage to keep up with his vision.
Cheers!

Archlinux is the linux distribution that gets the compromise between easy maintenance and customizability right. It's astonishing how little the tradeoffs are. I had never believed this was possible before I tried Arch.
Although I'm not a fan of hierarchies with "leaders" i have to say that you did your job really well.
Thanks for the great work!

Judd, thank you for the best distro! You were a very good Archleader.

Thank you, Judd, for your vision and energy, and for the most excellent distro on the planet!

I'm new here, but many thanks to Judd for your great job! Best luck with your new endeavours.
And "bonne chance" à phrakture!

Ive only been with Arch for a little over a year, but Ive never looked back! Thanks Judd!
You know what "they" say, A hero lives forever, and a legend never dies. That makes you the hero Judd, and Arch the legend.
We're looking to you now phrakture, phrak yeah!
The Internet...? Is that thing still around?

Thanks Judd, you have done great things and may they continue. No pressure then phrakture oh and of course congratulations

<looks at his watch> Nope, it's not April 1st and the CETW isn't making any headlines ...
After trying distro after distro, I landed on Arch Linux two years ago and been using it since. Judd, you created what I feel is the best power-user distro out there, and I commend the work you and the Arch members have put together. I'm confident to say we all respect your decision to "pass the reigns" to Phrakture, and I lurk [sic] forward to Arch Linux being the de-facto standard for Linux distros in the future -- at least, for those who know what it means to "run" Linux.
Many thanks and best wishes.

Sometime ago I felt the need to develop my own Linux distro to fill the voids of so many others...
...Then I took a shortcut when I stumbled across Archlinux.
Being so close as it can get to what I like, it would be pointless to reinvent the wheel.
Thanks Judd and the whole community.

Thank you for everything Judd. I really, really appreciate your work even though I start using Arch not so long ago.
And congratulation to Aaron, our new leader. Hope you'll make Arch Linux better and greater than it was.

Judd, you're a star. Good luck in the future. Arch is in safe hands.
So, does this mean we can finally drop C and port pacman to Python?!

So says the author of jacman... the Java frontend for pacman?
Aside from that little jibe, I'm all for it! Python for the win! :-D
Course its been done before... it was xerxes2, right? That goof, he got me started on Python text editors too!

Sorry to see you step down, Judd. I got the impression you are a good leader and you definitely are a great visionary.
Phrakture, welcome to the hot seat.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Only if you can prove it would have equivalent or better speed. And at that point you'd probably be writing a lot of C extensions.. which to me makes the whole discussion kinda pointless Though if you wanna start the project off, go for it. Pacman is nifty in that the database is all happy and text files.
