sky2 module

hi folks,

i've searched the forum high and low (or so i think)
i'm having a problem with the sky2 module, it would occasionally drop the network connection when i run hellanzb.  when it does i would have to stop networking, remove sky2 module, reload module and start the service again.

logs:

i'm thinking that there's a bug with the kernel module (well before 2.6.19?) , i'm using the arch-2.6.20.

thank you for reading

cheers

Re: sky2 module

The sky2 module is broken. Use sk98lin from Marvell. Note that this is not the default sk98lin driver in the kernel.

Re: sky2 module

I'm running the sky2 module in arch vanilla kernel (2.6.20), and for me at least, it works great. I'm running it against an old 100 mbit card (it might even be 10 mbps, i can't remember). Maybe that's why i'm having no problems?

Re: sky2 module

I'm having same problem with sky2, currently using "kernel26 2.6.22.6-2".

And have had it with several previous versions of the arch kernel26 package.

Wonder if we could possibly get the sk98lin as default in the kernel package instead, since this problem with the driver has persisted for more than a year now...
