Sharing an internet connection via wireless card [solved]

Hello,

I have a computer running windows xp sp2 that is connected to the internet. This box has a wireless card and I'm trying to use it to share the internet connection with a laptop. The internet sharing works fine when I run Windows on my laptop, but on arch I can't get it to connect. I'm sure the wireless card is properly set because I can connect to a wireless router. My wlan0 interface is set with ip 192.168.0.2, gw 192.168.0.1 and dns 192.168.0.1. Ping 192.168.0.1 gives me this message:

"network host unreachable"

I'm using this command to connect:

iwconfig wlan0 essid ecovegetal channel 1 mode ad-hoc key s:labecovegetal

Sorry I didn't paste anything, I'm posting this from windows.

Thanks for your help,

Gustavo

Try it with encryption disabled. If it works, double-check your keys at both ends.

It's working. The problem was that windows left the field "gateway" on the wireless device properties blank. I just had to put 192.168.0.1 there to get it to work. Thanks for your help, tomk.
