Xorg updates break Synaptics touchpad

I think I've paid the price for overlooking the messages which popped up in my terminal when going through that latest upgrade. After restarting my xserver, the touchpad on my laptop no longer works (my USB mouse is fine). Here is my xorg.conf:

Look for /var/log/Xorg.0.log   , that is always the latest Xorg log file.


Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Had the same problem, and another problem where my external mouse registered single clicks as double clicks.. I just removed my xorg.conf alltogether, and everything works.

Fixed by changing "AlwaysCore" to "SendCoreEvents".

For future reference, the Synaptics wiki has been updated to reflect the changes.  Also, be sure to read any and all post-install messages that pacman spits out after an upgrade.
