New user to arch, migrated from Ubuntu.  I didn't like everything you got when you installed Ubuntu, even a CLI system. Anyway..

My first screenshot posting, nothing too substantial. In it we have dwm 4.7, Raw Therapee, and a custom status script

Cheers,

That wallpaper is awesome.  Where can I get a copy?

Also, what's the window manager and theme?

Hi Theomachos, your xmonad looks really cool! Could you tell me the dzen configuration to get the top bar? (With the battery and wireless monitor, they look especially nice!)

It's just gdbar (comes with dzen - VERY useful) smile
The bar on the right is volume, not wireless, and works almost the same way.

Example-Code for Battery (zsh):

mybat() {

full=`grep full /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info | awk -F' ' '{print $4}'`
remaining=`grep remaining /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state | awk -F' ' '{print $3}'`
percentage=$(($remaining*100/$full))

if [[ $percentage == 100 ]]
then
    print -n "charged"
elif [[ $percentage -gt 50 ]]
then
    print -n "$(echo $percentage | ~/bin/gdbar -fg '#aecf96' -bg gray40 -h 7 -w 60)"
elif [[ $percentage -gt 30 ]]
then
    print -n "$(echo $percentage | ~/bin/gdbar -fg '#efef60' -bg gray40 -h 7 -w 60)"
elif [[ $percentage -lt 30 ]]
then
    print -n "$(echo $percentage | ~/bin/gdbar -fg red -bg gray40 -h 7 -w 60)"
fi

}

while true; do
print -n "^i($bitmap_path/battery.xbm)$(mybat)"
sleep 1
done

Hm, Xmonad looks pretty nice... I don't like tiling wm's that much but I'll give it a try.

I switched from mpd+sonata/ncmpc to amarok because of the handy last.fm scripts (missing albums etc) and the mp3-player integration.

Re: December 2007 Screenshots

Thank you, I found the wallpaper on deviantART in the wallpaper section: http://gothic-ballerina.deviantart.com/ … y-70231028

Then I made it into a GDM using gimp, and this old GDM as the written template: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. … bac899b7c3

My gtk theme is a clearlooks theme that I made using the clearlooks glossy theme as a template, I just changed all the colors and gradients around, and added a few new parts for different color animated progress bars, and a matching gradient menu-bar that is a lighter shade. I might upload this gtk theme to Gnome-Looks.org because it turned out pretty good. If I do, I'll post a link for you.

This is the gtk theme:

Large View: http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r161 … -119-1.png
Screenshot-119.png

The icons are also homemade. Using the UbuntuStudio .svg icons, I changed them all to a glossy black using Inkscape. And then I converted them to .pngs to finish the icon pack. I'm planning on uploading them one of these days, but I did see someone had already made similar black UbuntuStudio icon pack... except they had the orange Ubuntu logo on the folders.

The Emerald theme is also my own, as is the .conkyrc script.
