I'm trying to get a Tivoli Backup running and some of the files have Umlauts in their names (äöü). Some even have <Spaces> in the names (machine is a samba server so alot of users to teach).
So I tought I'd install it with UTF-8 filesystem but with that tivoli won't work. Anybody does run a Tivoli with UTF-8 on Archlinux?
Would be very grateful for any tips.
thanks

Hi, I am having the same problems with a no name NAS box, have tried the
mount -t smbfs //server/share /mnt/share -o user=**,password=**,iocharset=utf8,codepage=850
unfortunately they do not work for me and mounting as type cifs will not work at all.
You may have better luck:)
