Hi all!!
I have an old pc that i would like to access via SSH because i don't have a monitor to plug in it. This pc will serve as my test machine. But i can't link it directly to my router. I was thinkin:
can i access this pc linking it to my laptop?

On one end with the locking tab away from you and flat side facing you, you want the wires in this order left to right.
Orange-White, Orange, Green-White, Blue, Blue-White, Green, Brown-White Brown
On the other end,
Green-White, Green, Orange-White, Blue, Blue-White, Orange, Brown-White, Brown

In short, sounds simple:
Plug in the crossover cable into both systems.
Have sshd running on one "test machine" and use a ssh client on the other "laptop".
However tons of info can be found on this vast Internet, I feel http://linuxbasics.org/historical/2005- … s=rute.pdf is a good read.
If you are looking for more help, perhaps join an IRC or some other live means.

I've never tried it, but avahi looks like it's a very easy solution for this.
