netcfg2

Hey There,

I started using netcfg2 since it supports auto detection during boot... But I have some questions.. It's documentation in wiki is not that good..

1) Should I still use network daemon in DAEMONS() ?

2) Should I use network-profiles in DAEMONS() ?

3) I'm going to have several profiles.. 2-3 wireless profiles, 1 ethernet profile, 1 ppp profile (if possible - i haven't tried it yet) Does it search for the wireless profiles and if none of them exists in the area, connects through ethernet if possible ? If so, how can arrange my rc.conf ?

I'm going to have the following profiles:

EV (WPA)
PARKYERI (WEP)
OKUL (WIFI WITH NO ENCRYPTION)
KABLO (ETHERNET)
YURTNET (PPPOE)

Quis custodiet ipsos custodiet?

Re: netcfg2

1) no
2) no, you should use 'net-profiles' in your DAEMONS()
3) in rc.conf you should have NETWORKS=(auto-wireless eth1 ethernet ppp) and then you should set up your profiles in /etc/network.d/

Rest: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Network_Profiles
