UDMA fails 80 wire enable in libata

Is there a fix in archlinux for the failure to establish UDMA greater than mode 2 because the libata module doesn't recognize the 80-wire cable connect?

Yep, that's pretty cute!  It's my bug but it isn't being handled since my problem is with a Live faunos boot system over which I may not have any change control unless the fix is a boot option.  The kernel in this system is .23 and .24 I suspect has the same difficulty.

I have a flashcard problem but have noted others having DVD difficulties with UDMA set to UDMA25!!

I note that my HDD is properly handled in that it is identified as udma 6 when used.

This problem is reported even with no cable interface(direct connected adapter) and is due to a bug in libata-acpi.

My adapters are UDMA rated and do ID in dmesg as UDMA 2 configured.  With an UDMA 5 flash card they showed UDMA 2.

The error is signified by the statement "limited to udma2 due to 40-wire cable", even with an 80-wire cable properly   connected and adapter oriented for UDMA.  If it weren't oriented for udma, the dmesg data would not show udma2.

So goes the battle!
