major pop3-server authenticating problem

after a system crash, ( the worst is i don't know exactlly why?! ),
I cannot connect to it, from my client ....

I always get a "Invalid Login".....

my /var/log/messages says the following :

Apr 22 21:25:14 athen011 master[750]: about to exec /usr/cyrus/bin/pop3d
Apr 22 21:25:14 athen011 service-pop3[750]: executed
Apr 22 21:25:14 athen011 pop3d[750]: accepted connection
Apr 22 21:25:14 athen011 pop3d[750]: login: xxxx.com[000.000.000.000] user123 plaintext
Apr 22 21:25:18 athen011 master[231]: process 750 exited, status 0

there is also the following line on startup, could this maybe be the problem?

Apr 22 21:22:43 athen011 inetd[575]: pop3/tcp (2): bind: Address already in use

it would be really nice if someone could help because I have clients waiting for their mail account.

problem solved.....

for those who care :

i had 2 pop3 servers running, but it was quite hard to find them both
in fact one was started trough inetd (qpopper) and the other was automaticlly started by SuSE and netstat only showed one of the both...

so now i run only qpopper
