why is the man-db binary still at version 2.4.4

ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/community/os/x86_64/

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … s=0&SeB=nd

... while the AUR has 2.5.0 as being in community? Here I am going through list of mirrors to get the most updated copy and ftp://ftp.archlinux.org doesn't even have the most up to date binary package.

Again, I ask, is this by design or a mistake?

EDIT: by compiling the one in the cvs, I was able to fix this issue, which is how I found out the repository is out of sync with the cvs. check here for more info.

It's available as 2.5.0.. but only if you use i686. Seems like none of the TUs that build x86_64 packages has gotten around to update it. I put a request for having it updated in the Community64 request thread.

You could also ask on the aur-general mailing list.
