Hi,
I am using an IBM X31 laptop which has wifi card with atheros chip installed. This card works fine with madwifi, however, i wanted to know if i could get it working the new ath5k driver (http://madwifi.org/wiki/About/ath5k). Is it possible? If yes, does anyone know how?
Thx

The details are all in that wiki, specifically in the 'Users' section. Currently, the driver can only be compiled as part of a kernel build. You can either build your own wireless-git kernel, or you can try the -mm kernel, which includes ath5k.
As it happens, I am close to uploading the latest -mm kernel package to the unstable repo, so if you can hang on a bit, you can use that (the usual -mm health warnings apply, of course).

Thank you very much tomk .
You said all there is. Please post back once there is a driver which does not require compiling a wireless-2.6 git kernel.
