Re: FBSplash

Can you give us more information please?
Do you use a kernel, that has fbcondecor support? Does verbose mode generally not work, or only on the ttys, where you can login?

Re: FBSplash

From my grub

kernel (hd0,2)/vmlinuz26fbcondecor root=/dev/hdc7 resume=/dev/hdc5 ro lapic pci=assign-busses clocksource=pit video=uvesafb:1280x1024-32,mtrr:3,ywrap splash=silent,theme:darch console=tty1 quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd

and my rc.conf

DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng fbsplash ...)
SPLASH="fbsplash"

Verbose mode is working for my other kernel

kernel (hd0,2)/vmlinuz26fallen root=/dev/hdc7 resume2=swap:/dev/hdc5 ro pci=noacpi pci=assign-busses clocksource=pit video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1280x1024-24@85 splash=silent,theme:darch console=tty1 quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd
initrd (hd0,2)/kernel26fallen.img

Re: FBSplash

I was looking at the splash_manager (currently not working). It does not depend on tuxonice. It can handle any hibernation solution. I think that tuxonice_fbsplash just calls splash_manager giving it messages and updates the progressbar.

It would be cool to make uswsusp work with it or pm-utils.
