Wireless dhcpcd problems

I finally got Linux to detect my Atheros AR5007EG-disguised-as-an-AR5006EG wireless chipset, but I can't connect to any networks.

When I run the culprit line, dhcpcd -nd wlan0, in a console, it outputs this:

I know I'm probably doing something silly - unfortunately being somewhat uneducated in the realms of networking, I have no idea what. I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.

Here's the network section of my rc.conf:

Thanks for your help,

Re: Wireless dhcpcd problems

Give netcfg2 a try, the new Arch way of doing it. http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39505&p=1

Re: Wireless dhcpcd problems

Well, I can connect to the network, but I can't actually get any pages. Pinging google.com gives me no response, not even statistics when SIGTERM'd. But the network is up and I can still ping my router, which leads me to believe the problem was with DHCP rather than connections.

Netcfg2 is great - it's much easier than the other methods. However, it fixed a different problem. smile

Thanks,
- Tomkin

EDIT: Where does netcfg2 output any errors, etc? I looked in the wiki and the man page but it didn't say. Would it be in the command line?

Re: Wireless dhcpcd problems

Check your route and DNS information if you can ping, but can't access the internet.

netcfg2 will output an error if it has one when you run it.

Re: Wireless dhcpcd problems

Hmm. Apparently a couple of reboots seem to have done the trick. Thanks for your help, netcfg2 is really useful.
