I have a server that holds the work and license files for a desktop application. For reasons I don't know, if the desktop crashes, the server changes the permissions of the license file from rw to ro. When you start the destop program again, it doesn't like this and refuses to open, so I have to go in and fix it manually.
I find that I could use chattr to prevent this problem, if it was an ext3 file system, but I'm running reiser on this box. Is there any alternative I can use to keep the permissions from being changed on this file?
