Canon Powershot A70 camera

Hi,
I´m a newbie on ArchLinux.
Now, I would connect to my Canon Powershot A70 camera.
USB ist running, the usb-storage and sd_mod moduls are load.
I type "less /proc/bus/usb/devices" and found the camera.

T:  Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#=  4 Spd=12  MxCh= 0
D:  Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=32 #Cfgs=  1
P:  Vendor=04a9 ProdID=3073 Rev= 0.01
S:  Manufacturer=Canon Inc.
S:  Product=Canon Digital Camera
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr=100mA
I:  If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=06(still) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=(none)
E:  Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS=  64 Ivl=0ms
E:  Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS=  64 Ivl=0ms
E:  Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS=   8 Ivl=96ms

The mount piont "/mnt/camera" exists, but I can´t mount the cam.

[root@arbeit root]# mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera
mount: Gerätedatei /dev/sda1 existiert nicht

ls /dev/s*
/dev/stderr  /dev/stdin  /dev/stdout

/dev/scsi:

/dev/shm:

/dev/snd:
controlC0  pcmC0D0c  pcmC0D0p  pcmC0D1c  pcmC0D2p  timer

/dev/sound:

What can I do? I would not use gphoto2, or simular programms.

Thanks,
campy

Can you post the output of dmesg after you plug in your camera?

Re: Canon Powershot A70 camera

I have a A60, I use gphoto2 and digikam and works perfect, I only had to edit fstab to allow normal users use the usb, I followed more a less this howto: http://www.phil.uni-sb.de/~nkuttler/os/powershot/

Re: Canon Powershot A70 camera

I have an A40 and the only way I can get pictures off the camera is using gphoto2.  You can't just mount my camera as a usb storage device.
