Thanks guys for your feedback, generated the last rc candidate now -0.3, which will be the final on sunday/monday evening.
last fixed one typo in setup and added udevsettle again to install environment.
It will not become the next official iso but it will be placed on ftp that users can use them and they are well tested.
Have a nice weekend, cya around

Won't 2008.03 (final) be an official ISO? It's not clear if 0.3 won't be the offical ISO or if the final version too won't be an official ISO...

I understand that the final ISO that will be released Sunday/Monday will not be the oficial ISO. What i didn't understand is if the -0.3 version will be released today or later

2008.03 will be a final release, of course.
2008.03-0.3 is still a rc-version.

Kernel 2.6.24 supports the XTS block cipher I'm waiting for a 2.6.24 "final" ISO to update the wiki.

After 2 days it will be 2008.04 ...
If everything else fails, read the manual.

will the newest version of kbd which came today be on the iso?
it cotains norwegian dvorak keyboard layout, which would be nice
to have without having to get it through pacman.

I was told that gnome 2.22 would be moved to extra soon after the ISO's were released. If this is true, what would your guess on how long be?

http://archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev … 05524.html
For GNOME 2.22, I need glib2 updated to 2.16.1, which is in testing for
a while now.
Please signoff for both architectures so GNOME can get moved too this
week.
Can't be to long now

The installation process of 2008.03-3 works well for me too!

Guten Morgen Pierre,
I did an install a while ago (i686, ftp), and the intel-wireless option didn't work. The iwl3945 microcode doesn't get copied to /lib/firmware. During the CD boot process, I see an error message, something like "mv: (sorry can't remember the rest)", then iwl3945 fails to load the microcode (Reason -2: file not found). I was able to copy the microcode from another partition and continue installing.
Sorry if this is an already known issue. I am wayyy too tired to search bug reports right now.
Gute Nacht (finally)
PS: Another little thing, but it is only cosmetic. After installing packages, if you choose to clear Pacman's cache, you'll very briefly see the error message $LOC: ambiguous redirect. I took a quick look at the script. I think $LOC should actually be $LOG. There is only 1 occurrence of $LOC in the file, so it's easy to find.

peart would be good to know if the 2008.03 isos are also affected,i think i fixed this, but i dont have the hardware to test.
the 2007.08 were broken on copying the files

Sorry tpowa, I just rechecked the file name, it's Archlinux-i686-2008.03-0.3.ftp.iso. Strangely enough, the 2007-08 CDs always worked for me?!?

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)
