dmcrypt/luks performance question

Hi,

I'm interested in using full disk encryption using luks and dmcrypt but was wondering what kind of performance impacts such a system has on disk IO speeds?

I have the following hardware: Intel Q6600 quad core, 4gb ram, 500gb SATA 2 HDD, which while admittedly is fairly high-end I use it as a desktop box for multimedia as well as work and I would like to keep noticeable performance impacts to a minimum:

So if i was to encrypt root, home and swap partitions would i notice a performance hit?

Thanks.

Re: dmcrypt/luks performance question

With a computer like that, I highly doubt it.
