@dolby - yeah, I can burn CD/DVD and I'm using stock ARCH kernel + cdrkit from extra.
As far as i know, Graveman uses some cdrecord parameters, that wodim doesn't support.
It's really strange because I don't have an cdrecord package. But I'm not sure if there should be cdrecord pkg

thanks for the info. gonna try your method.
btw wodim was symlinked to cdrecord last i checked.
There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

You don't have cdrecord, but you have it's free replacement wodim, that was renamed to cdrecord for reasons of compatibility:
$ cdrecord -help
Usage: wodim [options] track1...trackn
...
How to learn what package a file on your system belongs to? It's simple!
1) "Locate" full path to wodim and cdrecord:
$ locate {wodim,cdrecord}
/usr/bin/cdrecord
/usr/bin/wodim
...
2) "Ask" pacman for package, that contains file:
$ pacman -Qo /usr/bin/{wodim,cdrecord}
/usr/bin/wodim is owned by cdrkit 1.1.6-1
/usr/bin/cdrecord is owned by cdrkit 1.1.6-1

Thanks Ilya. It will be useful in the future

The issue lies in the fact that graveman has not been updated to use cdrkit and still wants the old cdrtools packages. Let me post my config so that you can see it and you will have to manually add your cd burners/dvd burner manually. just put this in a file called graveman.conf in ~/.config/graveman
[general] confversion=0.3.12-5 dataisolevel=2 ..snip.. code=cp775 label=MS-DOS Baltic (CP774)
Sorry to bump, but this at least got graveman started for me. I haven't tested burning yet, but it looks promising. Thanks.

Hello,
with help of this tread i got graveman to work.
I had the same Problem: at startup graveman hangs and the cpu utilization get up to 100%. Graveman won't recognize my SATA DVD Drive
(Optiarc DVD RW AD-7173S 1-02).
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CD_ … 0.2F2.6.21
System: Archlinux x64, openbox
Dependencies of Graveman: pacman -Si graveman
libvorbis libid3tag libglade libmad cdrdao cdrkit sox>=13.0.0 dvd+rw-tools flac>=1.2.0 libmng
What have i done:
1.) create the configfile ~/.config/graveman/graveman.conf and add the Code from shen (Thanx for this)
2.) graveman should start now and you can File -> Preferences -> Devices -> Manually add a device (Thanx to kermit)
3.) start a Terminal and type 'cdrecord -checkdrive' and you should get something like that:
Device was not specified. Trying to find an appropriate drive...
Detected CD-R drive: /dev/cdrw
Using /dev/cdrom of unknown capabilities
Device type : Removable CD-ROM
Version : 5
Response Format : 2
Capabilities :
Vendor_info : 'Optiarc '
Identification : 'DVD RW AD-7173S '
Revision : '1-02'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-R/DVD-RW.
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc CD-R/CD-RW driver (mmc_cdr).
Driver flags : MMC-3 SWABAUDIO BURNFREE
Supported modes : TAO PACKET SAO SAO/R96R RAW/R96R
4.) I added my Drive:
Device name: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7173S 1-02
Location: /dev/cdrw
(BTW: 'dmesg | grep DVD' also shows the name of your drive but without Location)
Graveman told me that the drive was successfully added.
If you like you can remove shens drive now: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-841S Removable CD-ROM (Mouse rightclick and remove)
With this configuration i can burn with graveman!
Thanx to shen and Kermit
Greets roost
PS.: But wenn i try to scan for my DVD Drive (File -> Preferences -> Devices -> Scan again for devices) i get the same error like before and graveman hangs.
Anyway, I can burn with Graveman.

I switched back to cdrtools (in AUR). Graveman was working sometimes, but then would stop until I rebooted. So far cdrtools is working properly.
