Re: [Solved]configuration of a little server

you need to do a little more explaining. what is your original goal? what exactly do you want to do?

where is the apache installation? on A or B?
if you got the installation on A and you are using B put A's IP address in firefox, or the other way around. But if you are using A and want to access apache in A, put localhost or 127.0.0.1
You might have to put 127.0.0.1:80 (:80 signifies the port of apache)

good luck

It's nice to be in a peaceful place like this. smile

Re: [Solved]configuration of a little server

You shouldn't use the ip address of you internet connection to try to connect to the apache installation as that will go to the router first, use the computer b's ip address, if you don't know what it is check in your routers info pages.

Re: [Solved]configuration of a little server

You have to tell your router what to do with the request.  Assuming you want to access your web pages through port 80, you need to configure your router to forward requests to the machine that runs the web server.

Re: [Solved]configuration of a little server

Can you access your web server from the host machine itself ?  i.e. when you type 127.0.0.1 or localhost in firefox by running firefox from the host server ?

Also, assuming you use apache, it must listen to port 80.

Re: [Solved]configuration of a little server

Does you service provider allow the use of port 80.  Exemple here, Videotron does not while Sympatico does.
