kernel .25, catalyst 8.5 and pacbuilt to march=native seems slick indeed ^^

There is still a few bug reports open regarding 2.5.25 but I'm not sure if they are big enough to be blockers (I haven't looked in detail).
are these all bugs currently open for 2.6.25:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?str … ect=1&type
which of these are currently blocking for a kernel/cd release? Or are there other issues preventing the kernel leaving testing currently? I currently have no issues with the testing kernel but then my setups don't match those mentioned in the 6 open bugs.

FYI: the 2.6.25 kernel has been moved to the core repo.

Could we get information like this presented somewhat more prominently? E. g. a new thread in Announcements.

that is great news. Does this mean that accordingly the new install images can also be released anywhere in the foreseeable future?
I was wondering something about the kernel as well that I could not find in the bug-list or this thread, but does anyone know if the new kernel plays nice with the nvidia drivers?
I read in this thread:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=110088
that 2.6.25 will not be supported until the new linux drivers 173.08 that are currently in beta, or that the current driver needs to be patched.

I can tell you for sure that the 173.08 drivers are working as expected with the new kernel. I don't know about the others.

This thread was started because not everyone uses the testing repo. But everyone use the core repo, so I assume that they'll notice the new kernel package whenever they'll run 'pacman -Syu'.
EDIT: There was supposed to be a front page news but it wasn't posted yet.
EDIT2: The nvidia drivers (nvidia 169.12-4) works well here with GeForce 7900 GS.

i cannot confirm this. myth runs fine here ...
Are you running the backend with the 2.6.25 kernel as well? If so, what kind of hardware (I use bttv cards)?
Mythfrontend runs fine on a laptop with the 2.6.25 package, however, the server machine cannot start mythbackend. Reverted to 2.6.24 and it works again...
This problem with mythbackend and bttv cards seems to persist. See the link below for a full description:
