Postfix dns issue

Alright I've installed postfix 2.5.2-1 on Arch 64bit and configured it much like most of our current ubuntu 6.06 LTS servers. Everything works except for one thing.

Whenever I add the setting:
reject_unknown_sender_domain to the smtpd_recipient_restrictions array, I keep getting the following problem when trying to send mail via this MTA:

Jul  4 10:25:58 fw1a postfix/smtpd[11589]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[196.220.32.40]: 450 4.1.8 <email@example.com>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found; from=<email@example.com> to=<email@example.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<smtp.webafrica.co.za>

Alright the email@example.com is not what I am really testing with, I just dont want my email address to pop up if any search engine bots scan over this page.

No matter what I do, it seems that postfix somehow is not doing the correct lookup for the sender's email address. Additionally I can't add rbl lists they all fail in this version of postfix with this log:

Jul  4 10:25:58 fw1a postfix/smtpd[11589]: warning: 40.32.220.196.sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org: RBL lookup error: Host or domain name not found. Name service errorfor name=40.32.220.196.sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org type=A: Host not found, try again
Jul  4 10:25:58 fw1a postfix/smtpd[11589]: warning: 40.32.220.196.cbl.abuseat.org: RBL lookup error: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=40.32.220.196.cbl.abuseat.org type=A: Host not found, try again
Jul  4 10:25:58 fw1a postfix/smtpd[11589]: warning: 40.32.220.196.dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net: RBL lookup error: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=40.32.220.196.dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net type=A: Host not found, try again

Now I know the configuration settings should not be a problem as we already run this config on the old ubuntu servers and they work just fine right now. I really wanted to convert these over to a rolling release distro as I am getting tired of doing complete distro upgrades when I really just wanted to do small updates daily.

Finally, resolv.conf is set up manually to the same dns servers that the ubuntu 6 servers are using thus I am relatively sure that config is correct, except perhaps if postfix is running in a chrooted environment that I do not know about?

Re: Postfix dns issue

Nvm found the problem. Archlinux doesnt install postfix as chrooted but the config files expected it to be set up like that. Once I fixed that it started working.
