Hey all,
I wasn't sure where to post this but since I am a newbie ....
I made the move about a year ago to Linux with Ubuntu and then about 2 months ago to Arch Linux. The only one thing that I miss about Windows is the ability to rename files by simply highlighting them and clicking on them once more (as opposed to right clicking on the file and going through the menu to find the rename command). Is there a way to modify Gnome to be able to do this?
Thanks!

I don't know about mouse shortcuts, but F2 should work.

My fluxbox install on Debian has an option to Rename in the right click menu.
What WM/DE are you using?
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

I think he wants another option to rename other than the right click, like windows.

Aah !! My bad !
should have read it more carefully. Yup, in that case, F2 is the way to go.

I never noticed this, because I haven't missed that feature at all! It always kinda annoyed me. Anyway, I don't know if nautilus can do that....

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...
